Based on an honors thesis she is writing for the French major, Yifang Zhang’s research project, titled “The Evolution of Humanity and the Destruction of Nature in French Science Fiction,” explores representations of global ecological crisis in two bandes dessinées (graphic novels), Carbone et Silicium and Transperceneige (Snowpiercer), and one novel, Sans l’orang-outan.
